GNSS and Compass M9N-5883
Description

1. Product Summary

1.1. Product Description

The Matek M9N-5883 is a compact and reliable GNSS + Compass module based on the u-blox NEO-M9N satellite receiver and QMC5883L magnetometer. It supports multi-constellation positioning (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou) for high-precision global navigation and includes an integrated 25×25×4 mm ceramic patch antenna. Ideal for drones, robotics, and autonomous vehicles, the module provides both location and heading data through UART and I²C interfaces.

1.2. Product Features

  • Equipped with u-blox NEO-M9N multi-GNSS receiver.
  • Integrated QMC5883L magnetometer for accurate compass heading.
  • Supports concurrent reception of GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou.
  • High-sensitivity tracking up to -167 dBm.
  • Patch antenna size: 25 × 25 × 4 mm (high gain, low noise).
  • UART interface for GNSS (TX/RX) and I²C interface for compass (SDA/SCL).
  • Supply voltage: 4.0 V – 5.5 V (typical 5 V).
  • Current consumption: approx. 50 mA.
  • Compact dimensions and lightweight for easy integration.
  • Compatible with ArduPilot, PX4, and most flight controllers.

1.3. Applications

  • UAVs / Drones: Navigation and heading sensing for autopilot systems.
  • Robotics: Real-time global positioning and compass orientation.
  • Mapping and Surveying: Multi-GNSS data for accurate geographic recording.
  • IoT / Embedded Devices: Position tracking and direction detection.
